Georgian Triangle Real Estate and Homes for Sale

As a real estate agent who specializes in Georgian Triangle, let me be your guide to what Georgian Triangle Ontario has to offer as a to finding homes for sale in the area.

Located in Simcoe County, Collingwood has the heart of a small town and all the conveniences of a bustling city. Located on the crystal blue waters of Georgian Bay, just a 90 minute drive from Ontario's capital city, Toronto, this four season resort town has come of age. The ski hills of The Blue Mountains offer a breath taking backdrop. Wasaga Beach, the longest fresh water beach in the world is a neighbour. It is easy to see why this vibrant community is flourishing.

Incorporated as a town in 1858 Collingwood was named after the British naval hero Admiral Lord Cuthbert Collingwood. For the history buffs out there the Admiral served as second in command to Lord Nelson at The Battle of Trafalgar. Ship building and railways linked the community to the outside world Collingwood was well on its way to becoming a commercial centre for the area known today as The Georgian Triangle. Fast forward to the present time and you find the strong foundations of the community have provided a place for families, business, recreation and arts to thrive.

The Town of Blue Mountains is located in Grey County and was officially formed in 2001 with the amalgamation of the Town of Thornbury, Clarksburg and the Township of Collingwood. The major population centre is Thornbury with a number of outlying communities that include Camperdown, Castle Green Estates, Christie Beach, Clarksburg, Duncan, Gibraltar, Heathcote, Koalpore, Little Germany, Loree, Ravena, Red Wing, Slabtown and Victoria Corners.

The Blue Mountain Resort (www.bluemountain.ca) known locally as "the village" is the centre stage for most of the four season activities from skiing, snowboarding, skating, year round indoor tennis, golf, including a great family friendly 18 hole putting golf course, mountain biking, hiking, open air gondola, shopping, accommodation, entertainment, restaurants, bars and really and truly so much more. The vision that Jozo Weider and his partner Peter Campbell had for the Blue Mountains way back in 1941 has grown beyond recognition and has become one of the four season destinations in Canada. Through this development an interesting change has taken place the "Blue Mountains" has become a community, a place where people want to live year round. The housing market has developed and grown and there is a plethora of houses from $100,000's to multi- million dollar waterfront, golf course and view estates, and even vacant land with a view to choose from, in every price range. If you are interested in seeing what the housing market has to offer please take a look at my listings.
